Aquamarine Tank Ring, 8cts

An aquamarine and diamond tank ring. Featuring an elongated, emerald cut aquamarine, four-claw set in yellow gold. The aquamarine sits in an ‘open scroll’ style ring, with four round cut diamonds on either shoulder. The diamonds are set in white, and lead to a polished yellow gold band.

This stunning retro ring is a beautiful example of the tank style jewellery, popular in the 1940s. The structured forms were inspired by military tanks and architecture of the time. They were also a way of transporting gems and gold, with families melting down gold and turning it into easily transportable chunky jewellery. This substantial ring is a one of a kind, original piece, brimming with historical features of the period.
