Pre- Columbian Tairona Pendant

A stylised high carat gold pendant in the shape of an apple. The body is formed of a single hollow form, with an empty centre. It follows a heart-shaped form remeniscent of that of the fruit. The addition of the modern suspension loop can be interpreted as a stem-like figure; and allows for the piece to be worn as a pendant.
Note: This pendant was likely used as part of body modification and alteration process, it is possible that it contributed to stretch the skin of the wearer.
