A Ceylon sapphire and diamond ring. Featuring an oval-cushion cut sapphire, four claw set in yellow gold. The sapphire is surrounded by twelve round brilliant cut diamonds in a claw set cluster. The cluster leads to diamond set shoulders, and a polished yellow gold band.

Ceylon sapphires have been prized for their large size and vibrant colours for two thousand years, and because of this, most sapphires in Crown Jewels around the world originate from Sri Lanka (Ceylon). Some notable Ceylon sapphires include the brooch given to Queen Victoria by Prince Albert on their wedding, which was a favourite of Queen Elizabeth II, and the sapphire in Princess Diana’s engagement ring, now worn by the Princess of Wales.
