A vintage rutilated quartz ring by designer Amsterdam Sauer. Featuring a large, round-cabochon rutilated quartz. The stone is bezel set in yellow gold, with a gold wire sweeping across the surface in a swirl. The swirl is finished in a single round brilliant cut diamond, adding a touch of sparkle. The band of the ring continues the swirl motif, with a wide openwork pattern covering 75% of the band.
Rutile quartz has the nickname ‘Hair of Venus’ because of naturally occurring needle-like inclusions of rutile. Rutile is a mineral that can vary in colour from golden to red to black. These inclusions create striking patterns within the quartz, making each stone unique. Rutilated quartz is believed to enhance spiritual growth, intuition, and manifestation.
Amsterdam Sauer is a renown Brazillian jewellery brand founded by Jules Sauer, a Belgian refugee escaping war in 1939. He quickly established himself as a skilled gemmologist and lapidary, quickly becoming one of Brazils finest jewellers. His pieces focus on exceptional quality gems, mostly sourced in Brazil, with playful and eye catching designs.

Micro mosaic was a technique developed in Italy, and involves making impossibly small mosaics to be worn in jewellery.
